Using My Other Era
Terms
By using My Other Era, you agree to these terms. They explain how to use the portrait studio with care for the people in your photos and for the history your portrait is drawing from.
1. Permission for every photo
Upload only an original photo you have the right and permission to use. If another person appears, get their explicit permission before processing their likeness. A parent or guardian must give permission for a minor. Do not upload a public figure, celebrity, or anyone else without permission.
2. Acceptable use
The studio makes portraits inspired by historical eras. Do not use it to create:
- Hate speech, discriminatory, or harassing imagery
- Deepfakes intended to mislead or deceive
- Content that violates copyright or intellectual property rights
We do not run a separate app-level inappropriate-content classifier for uploads. File validation, permission requirements, and portrait quality checks still apply. Generation is subject to the image provider's safety policies and may be declined by that provider. Illegal or non-consensual sexual imagery is prohibited.
3. Portraits, likeness, and history
Portrait generation is interpretive. Facial details, expressions, poses, clothing, and the era treatment can vary. We do not promise a perfect likeness, a specific result, or historical accuracy.
4. Ownership and rights
You retain the rights you hold in the original photos and generated portraits, subject to applicable law and any third-party or provider rights. Uploading a photo does not transfer ownership to My Other Era, but permission to use a photo is not a promise that you own its copyright or every right in it. You are responsible for obtaining permissions and honoring copyright, likeness, privacy, and other legal obligations. We do not guarantee that a portrait is free of third-party claims or that you have an unrestricted license to use it. Any rights in a generated portrait are also subject to the image provider's terms. Authorized administrators may privately review uploads, generated portraits, processing status, and quality-check candidates for support, safety, operations, and quality review. We display a portrait publicly only when you opt in through the provided controls, and you can revoke that choice at any time. Revocation removes the showcase listing, but a cached public image may remain available for up to one hour, and copies already fetched or made elsewhere cannot be recalled.
5. Credits
Customers can purchase additional one-time portrait credit packs through Stripe Checkout when checkout is available. Credits are added only after Stripe confirms payment. Checkout may be temporarily unavailable because of configuration, maintenance, or an operational failure.
One credit makes one portrait. Selecting an era reserves one credit, and a completed portrait uses that reserved credit. If generation fails or returns only some of the requested portraits, credits reserved for portraits that were not completed are released. Available credits remain until used.
6. Service availability
My Other Era is provided "as is". We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time. Portrait generation may take time, fail, or return only some of the requested eras. Your retention and deletion choices are described in the Privacy policy.
