Your photos and portraits
Privacy
My Other Era is a portrait studio. This policy explains what happens to your original photo, your portraits, and the information needed to make them.
1. How we use your photos
My Other Era does not use your uploaded photos, generated portraits, or personal data to train, fine-tune, or improve models. Portrait generation is handled through OpenAI's image service. OpenAI's applicable terms and privacy practices govern its processing.
2. Retention and deletion
The current service keeps original photos, normalized copies, generated portraits, and provider candidates privately until you use an available deletion control or contact the studio for help. New uploads and generated portraits do not have an automatic expiry.
- Original photos: We keep the uploaded original and the normalized copy used for processing, including a photo that cannot be used to make a portrait. The Studio can delete an original photo for a completed or partial generation. If the generation failed or was cancelled, or the original is no longer reachable in Studio, contact the studio to request deletion.
- Generated portraits and candidates: We keep completed portraits and intermediate provider candidates, including retries and candidates rejected by the quality checks.
- Deletion: For a completed or partial generation, use the existing Studio control to delete its original photo. Failed or cancelled generations, and originals no longer reachable in Studio, require a support request. Deleting an original removes its original, normalized copy, and related candidates; completed portraits remain. Deleting a portrait removes that portrait and its related candidates. Minimal audit or operational metadata may remain.
3. Image processing
We validate the file type, size, and image dimensions, then create a normalized copy for processing. Photos and portraits are stored in private object storage and served through owner-scoped endpoints. The app does not run a separate image moderation classifier; provider safety requirements still apply.
4. Providers
We use private object storage for original photos, normalized copies, portraits, and provider candidates. We use OpenAI's image service for portrait generation; the current backend records that provider as openai:gpt-image-2. These providers process data as needed to provide the service under their applicable terms and policies.
5. Consent and your choices
You can access, download, and delete portraits through the Gallery. Public showcase is a separate, optional choice in the Studio or Gallery. A portrait can be featured only after you opt in, and you can revoke that choice at any time. Revoking consent removes the portrait from the showcase listing, but a cached public image may remain available for up to one hour, and copies already fetched or made elsewhere cannot be recalled. Before uploading someone else's photo, make sure you have their permission. To request account deletion or help with a retained item, contact the studio.
6. Analytics
My Other Era uses Google Analytics 4 on eligible production pages. Measurement is limited to sanitized page paths and the interactions described in this policy; automatic Google page views and advertising signals are disabled. The app sends its own sanitized page-view events. The GA4 property is also configured with Enhanced Measurement disabled; the client does not rely on an unofficial enhanced_measurement JavaScript flag for that control. Route parameters and unknown paths are reduced to a route template or /not-found; page titles come from that same safe route map, never from page content. External or unusable referrers are sent as an empty value.
Analytics is not enabled on preview, development, test, or administrative pages. My Other Era does not enable Google advertising signals or ad-personalization signals.
